Without (Electrical) Power

Last night I came home to no electrical power.  It seems that the power went out shortly before 4pm and PG & E is still trying to figure out why.

Losing power is not a common occurrence around my area.  Especially for the length of time that the power was out.  To state the obvious pun; I was powerless.  So much of my life style depends on electricity.  It was a good time to catch up on some of the reading that I wanted to do.

Maybe it is time to start that emergency kit that I have been always wanting to put together.

1) Wake up -- Check
2) Make coffee -- Check
3) Feed cat -- Check
4) Read paper -- Check
5) Wash Clothes -- Check

6) Call mother -- Check

What I love about MySpace.com:

1) The ability to reconnect with friends around the country from high school to college.

What I hate about MySpace.com:

1) The loading times of the MySpace.com site. This could be my personal page or all my friend's pages. Everything takes just way too long to load. I know that a lot of it has to do with the freedom that each users has to design and display their pages. And, the traffic on the MySpace.com servers can be high from time to time. But, man I would use the site more if I knew that pages would load faster. I am not on modem speed either.

Where is that happy medium?
